Interdisciplinary Approaches to Gastrostomy Tube Weaning in Medically Complex Children

The second webinar in our 2022 series Interdisciplinary Approaches to Gastrostomy Tube Weaning in Medically Complex Children will be held on Wednesday May 11th from 5:00-6:00pm PST (6pm Mountain, 7pm Central, 8pm EDT ) 

This webinar is free to SENTAC members and only $25 for non-members.
  
This 1-hour course will present approaches from two different hospital systems on feeding tube weaning in medically complex children.  During this live webinar, panelists from a variety of disciplines will discuss how feeding tube weaning is approached in their clinic and provide a model for an interdisciplinary pathway toward full oral feeding for children with tube dependence. Participants will have opportunities to ask questions and engage in discussion.   

1.0 CME will be awarded

*All other disciplines will receive a certificate of completion and if requested, other documents required to submit for CE credit.

Learner Objectives:

After completion of this course, learners will be able to: 

  • Describe two models for interdisciplinary feeding tube weaning clinics 
  • Identify the roles of different professions (SLP, RD, GI, etc) for interdisciplinary, evidence-based feeding tube weaning programs  
  • Name three potential barriers to progression to full oral feeds, and outline management options
